My photography revolved around the kitchen sink. I fixed the camera beside the kitchen sink and focused on the dripping faucet. I want to use the intuitive picture of “water dripping” to relate “time passing”. Later, while keeping the focus of the “faucet” unchanged, I took several ordinary life scenes. These daily scenes are filmed a little blurry to set off such subjects as water droplet images. What I want to express is that in our indifference, time goes by regardless of everything. Whether we are busy or idle, every second in the past has become history. I deliberately let the speed of water drops fall change, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes still, just like the time that the naughty child, who willfully follows his own rhythm. When we are happy, it passes quickly, but when we wait, it stops. In the same space, “I” appear one by one, besides the refrigerator, the stove, and the kitchen sink. At this time, the water drops have stopped dripping, it seems that time has stopped, and “I” do not know. In the end, I designed the action of turning off the faucet. When the faucet was turned off, the water drops stopped dripping. I think that although time is not affected by anyone, we can still save time. After all, like water resources, time is so precious and worth cherishing.
Hawking said that time exists objectively, but it can be perceived in different forms. We can go back to the past, but we cannot change history after all. Hail to Hawking!
Speaking of “time”, I first thought of the book “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking, a British scientist, which discusses the essence of time and space and explores the origin and future of the universe. In the book, Hawking mentioned many interesting concepts, such as black holes, the arrow of time, wormholes, and time travel. I have always been curious and expectant about the travel through time and space that Hawking guessed. On this trip, I met “I” in the same space, and this “I” came from a few minutes ago, an hour ago, or even yesterday.
